MISSION

Pyramid Lake Social Services provides for the protection and betterment of individuals and families residing on the Pyramid Lake Reservation. First and foremost, our goal is to preserve the unity of the family and take such actions as may be necessary and feasible to prevent the abuse, neglect, or abandonment of children and adults; to provide a continuum of services for children and their families from prevention to residential treatment, with emphasis whenever possible on prevention, early intervention, community-based alternatives, and promotion of self-sufficiency.

Pyramid Lake Social Services (PLSS) is contracted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs to provide certain services to enrolled members of federally recognized tribes living on or near the Pyramid Lake Reservation.

These services include:

Child Protection Services
  • Taking child abuse/neglect reports
  • Investigating reports of child abuse/neglect
  • Child Welfare
  • Managing care for children under the legal    guardianship of the Tribe.
  • Foster Home Licensing
  • Licensing foster homes on the Pyramid Lake
       Reservation
  • Always looking for foster homes
  • Adoptions

  • Applications to adopt
  • Always looking for adoptive parents
  • Adult Protection Services
  • Taking adult abuse/neglect reports
  • Investigating reports of adult abuse/neglect
  • Adult Care
  • Managing care for elders and adults with
       disabilities under the legal guardianship of the Tribe

    We accept donations of usable sports equipment (softball,baseball, rodeo, etc.) or funds for children in foster care to participate in sports.
