Wireless network begins Phase 2

The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Commerce-NTIA Technology Opportunities Program (TOP) is set to begin installing a reservation wide wireless network.

The network will allow users to access tribal departments and services both on and off the reservation. to create a central location for members who reside both on and off the reservation to access a variety of services online.

Also included in the project is the establishment of several “access points” in Wadzii (Wadsworth) and Soho (Sutcliffe) where community numu can watch and participate in tribal council meetings via video conferencing over the network.

Great Basin Internet Services will begin installation of the satellite system.
