Pyramid Lake Bike Path
The Pyramid Lake Transportation Department is in the process of planning a bike path along the west side of Pyramid Lake. The bike path alignment, when constructed will be on the old abandoned railroad bed. The Path will be 10.9 miles long starting on the railroad bed very near Popcorn Rock and terminating very near the Pyramid Lake Marina. New parking areas will be part of the plan at the beginning and end of the project.
Maps of proposed bike path
- Purpose of this path is to enhance the popularity of Pyramid Lake and expand the recreation opportunities that Pyramid Lake has to offer. By seeking grant funding such as rails to trails, we hope to create a project that is beneficial to the Tribe.
- The benefit of this path is to enhance tribal business opportunities to market food catering, bike rental, sporting events ect. Existing Tribal Business's will see increased sales with the opening of a new bike path. By creating new opportunities for business' we can help generate additional revenue for our members and our tribe.
- An added benefit is to promote the health and welfare of the residents and public by environmentally friendly, non-polluting exercise along a scenic byway.
